Baya Stay

The brand new model, the ‘BayaStay’, has been a long time coming – an idea both Ed and Josh have had on the back burner and they are delighted with the finished product. Over the last few years, they have kept a keen eye on what’s available in the glamping industry and have been collecting ideas and inspiration from their travels within the UK and internationally. They were keen to put their enthusiasm to the test with a unique Baya stamp on the classic geodesic structure.

The BayaStay is designed specifically to endure the harshest weather fronts the UK can throw in the most exposed locations. Not only is this one of the most structurally practical options but with the contemporary styling of the timber cladding and the timber framing, this element can bring that warm and cozy feeling no matter what the weather outside. At 5.6 meters in diameter, this is the perfect size to fit out for the romantic couple as well as spacious enough to sleep 4.

The cover is designed with two condensation vents in the roof and a huge manually rolled window at the front of the dome allowing the outdoors, indoors. The main door is flanked by two meshed windows, creating that breeze for the optimum temperature in those warmer months.

The cover fabric is a waterproof, fireproof fabric with a grainy texture and a matt finish for a natural, cotton-like effect. Its PVDF varnish makes outdoor stains (tree sap, dead leaves, etc.) easy to clean.  This phthalate-free fabric is Greenguard certified for indoor air quality and 100% recyclable, also available in a wide range of colours complementary to the BayaStay design. If the BayaStay is to be used in the colder months or location, a log burner can be installed and our fitted insulation panels will keep the dome toasty all day and night long.

All the timber used at Baya is sustainably sourced, from our spruce struts to the Siberian larch cladding.  The larch cladding is blessed with lots of natural properties that make it low maintenance. The resin in the wood means it has natural protection against rot and decay, so no nasty chemicals. The timber structure is connected using stainless steel fittings, these are our own unique design and fabricated right here in the UK, this enables us to keep the standard as high as possible.

Also, Baya has now started taking orders for the sale of their unique event size timber domes. These were originally designed as the hire model for a wide range of uses, transported all over the country. From weddings, festivals, yoga retreats and pop up restaurants, these could be a great addition to your glamping/camping site allowing you to stretch out the season and put on your own events, the options really are endless.

There’s nothing like seeing and experiencing the Bayadomes in the flesh so please get in touch and we can arrange an appointment to show you around at our base at Combrew Farm in North Devon.
