Quality In Tourism (QiT) is launching a new assessment scheme for ‘Unique Accommodation’.
The new scheme is for accommodation businesses; to help owners provide reassurance to their guests by ratifying the serious details of running a business that review sites simply don’t address. The glamping and experiential holiday sector has continued to grow at a remarkable pace, yet the assessment schemes have not been able to keep pace or quantify this unique sector of the market.
Therefore, QiT is delighted to announce the launch of its new “Unique Accommodation” assessment scheme. As QiT is no longer tethered to the historic “common standards”, it has been able to consult with accommodation owners to deliver an assessment scheme relevant to the sector.
The scheme will reflect that the real beauty of “glamping” is that no two properties are the same and understands that owners have spent time imagining, creating and delivering the perfect holiday experience for their guests. It embraces the differences that make them unique.
The scheme operates at two levels. Primarily it will ensure that each business is fit for purpose and legally compliant. Using their years of experience from visiting every type of accommodation, a QiT assessor will analyse and certify that the business meets all legal and safety standards required to operate; whether it is a treehouse, a yurt or a luxury pod, there are fundamental legal requirements that always need to be addressed!
The higher level of the Unique Accommodation assessment scheme goes further and offers a star rating scheme for those who wish to demonstrate their quality and facilities by providing a point of difference to the competition. The key element of this scheme is that it recognises the “uniqueness” of the property and no longer insists that each property is in a “designated” category, such as “Glamping” or “Bed and Breakfast”. QiT will be working as partners with the owners to deliver a personalised designation reflecting the owners vision and one that will ultimately satisfy the guests desire for a unique experience.
