Rural Roots Media specialises in helping rural tourism businesses to tell their story through different media formats, including traditional, digital and social, to build and maintain a good reputation to ensure bookings keep rolling in.
Founder, Megan Allen, is a CIPR Accredited PR Practitioner and works with landowners and small business owners from farm to fork and campsites to castles to create bespoke PR packages which range from one-off consultations to press releases, media relations, copywriting and content creation.
This year Megan launched the Rural PR Academy, which is tailored towards business owners who would like to manage their own PR but don’t know how to get started. She will be enrolling for 2019 at this year’s Glamping Show.
The Academy is all online and covers one topic a month such as photography, the different elements of PR and pitching to the media; culminating in the creation of a full PR strategy for the following year. To hit the ground running, Megan also feeds regular journalist requests into the group so that they can start seeing their business in the media almost immediately.
Megan is an NCTJ qualified freelance journalist and copywriter, writing for the local and national media and edits her own rural tourism news site, The Rural Gravel Guide. She would be happy to chat to landowners or tourism businesses about ways they can be featured on the site.
